Boldr Venture Wayfarer Navy

I’m reviewing today a new affordable piece : the Boldr Venture Wayfarer Navy. The Wayfarer is a tribute to classic 24-hour subdial watches housed in a sturdy titanium Venture case.

  • Water Resistance: 200m (660ft) / 20ATM
  • Crown: Screw-down crown with custom embossed BOLDR logo
  • Dial: Printed Matte dial with Japan Superlume
  • Hands: Custom hands with Japan Superlume

  • Strap: Nylon NATO Strap with custom titanium buckles

The watch comes in a solid travel box. Rest assured nothing bad will happen during the delivery process, your watch is well protected 🙂

The case:

The Venture isn’t too big (it’s even a bit small for me) with its 38mm and a contained 12mm height. The Titanium case is really light, and you’ll quickly forget about wearing it. The finish is good and it looks solid, the kind of piece you can wear in any situation! Its sharp edges give it a strong personality that I really appreciate.

The dial:

The dial texture is gorgeous, especially the way it reacts to the direct light! It shows a date window at 3 o’clock and a small 24h subdial at 9 o’clock. With white hands covered with Japan Superlume, the legibility remains excellent!

The movement:

The Venture’s movement is the Miyota 8217 Automatic. It’s a well known movement which offers self-winding, hacking, and a 40h power reserve. It’s an entry-level movement but considering the final price, it’s a good choice.

The strap:

The nylon strap is a the one thing I don’t like about this watch. It looks very good but it’s a bit too stiff and not very comfortable, but luckily enough there are easy solutions for that kind of problems :). I’ve replaced it with a tropical rubber from Watchbandits, as you can see on some pictures, and I love it!

I would have loved the Venture to be a bit bigger (>41mm) to fit my 19cm wrist better, but it’s a personnal judgement. Both look and feel are really good, way above what one can expect from a 340$ watch, so you can go with confidence!
