Even if the current trend seems to be around smaller watches, there are still a few new releases meant for us, watch addicts with lumberjack wrists 🙂
Evox has recently released the 3rd version of its dive watch, which I’m about to introduce here in its camo version: the DV3-07.

My first thoughts when I opened the box was that this will definitely be the watch I’ll be wearing for my outdoor activities! The case looks and feels like it can survive almost anything. It’s among the largest pieces I have worn, but it still sits quite well on my 19,5cm wrist. The large lugs are slightly curved and the whole thing is well balanced with a reasonable thickness of 13mm, which isn’t too much considering the 500m water resistance.
The screw-down crown is located at 4 o’clock and the Helium Escape Valve is located at 2 o’clock. The uni-directional bezel features an aluminium inlay. I usually tend to avoid aluminium inlays because they can be easily scratched, but I guess that a ceramic one would have increased the price of this affordable toolwatch. The flat sapphire glass is AR coated and offers a good legibility in most situations.
The matte camo dial lacks a bit of texture, but the 3d indices seem to be well made and glow in the dark thanks to their Superluminova finish. I would have prefered a no-date dial on such a watch but it’s still there at 4 o’clock.
The hands were treated with Superluminova too, and I must say that the minute hand really pops out thanks to its yellow outline, I like it!
Evox made the choice to equip their watches with a Seiko NH35 movement. Although it’s a low-end movement, it still does the job quite well. It has second hack and offers 40h of power reserve.
The watch comes on a leather strap with quick release feature. It’s quite comfortable but I wouldn’t use it for any activity this watch was meant for, that’s why I switched to the optional silicon strap. This one won’t suffer from any water/sweat exposure and it fits perfectly with the camo style.
The DV3-07 is a cool piece. It has a strong and bold identity and gives the impression it can face any situation! It’s available from Evox’ website for 447€.
