They have a Range of 9 Styles with many different Colourways and Movements from Ronda, Miyota, Seiko and ETA in a Choice of S/S, S/S with DLC coating and Bronze cases

The one I am reviewing is Stainless Steel with the ETA 2824-2 workhorse
The watch arrived in a Travel Case with both Rubber Strap and Stainless Steel Bracelet complete with two bracelet adjuster keys

The first thing that hits you is the design and all the references to the Great Wall from the stunning brickwork on the dial to the castellations on the bezel and crown and scene of this Towers and Wall on the case back, the second is the first time you come in from outside on a sunny day is how the Super-LumiNova really pops

First I adjusted the Bracelet, using the two Allen style keys you remove the required link pins and you notice the quality of the links and the stunning Divers Extension Clasp, here you will find the PHOIBOS name and there trademark Octopus. The Bracelet is Straight 22mm and has some weight giving a great feel to the watch

The Dial is a joy to look at with its embossed brick effect, this one is grey, a date at 6 o’clock and 5 minute markers with the 12, 3, 6 & 9 hour markers being shield shaped, these are all edged in blue , there is the Trademark octopus at 12 and 500m automatic above the date aperture and to finish it off a black hour and second hand with a complimentary blue minute hand, the chapter ring has black minute markers

the 316l stainless steel case is 42mm with the all-important lug to lug length at 48mm and 22mm lugs, the crown is nicely guarded at 3 o’clock where you will find an embossed octopus and at 9 o’clock a helium escape valve. There is a nice double dome sapphire with blue AR and a 120 click bezel with a sapphire lumed bezel insert in blue and grey the first 15 in blue with minute markers and the rest in grey with 5 minute markers, to finish the body off is an embossed case back with a stylised scene of the Great Wall in the centre and around the edge is the watch information Phoibos – Great Wall – Swiss ETA2824-2 – Sapphire Crystal -500m/1650ft – Helium Escape Valve
The Movement is the great Swiss workhorse from ETA the 2824-2 which has been in service since 1982 and comes with 28,800 bpm, a 38 hour power reserve, shock protection via Incabloc Novodiac and a Etachron regulator system, it is a hacking and handwindable automatic the standard adjustment in two positions give an accuracy of +/-12 sec/day up to +/- 30 sec/day but my example has been maintaining a healthy +/-3 sec/day over the last month

With the Bracelet adjusted to my 7¼ – 18cm wrist the watch weighs in at 190 grams which shows the quality of the materials used and with the curved end rubber strap it is 116 grams

the rubber strap has curved ends for a snug fit and a signed buckle (PHOIBOS)
its width is 22mm tapering to 20mm and has a 120/80mm length
Day to day it is an easy watch to wear with its precise action to the unidirectional bezel, super smooth triple-lock screw down crown and easy to adjust diver’s extension clasp. All you have to do is enjoy the mesmerising dial and strong features of the bezel to know you are wearing a piece to match the Iconic Great Wall name
